November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month
Lung cancer takes more lives than breast, prostate and colon concers combined.
Below are a few facts about lung cancer:
•Smoking is responsible for roughly 90% of all cases of lung cancer
•81% of those living with lung cancer are over the age of 60
•Non-smokers have a 20-30% greater chance of developing lung cancer if they are exposed to secondhand smoke at home or work
•Studies suggest that women who smoke may be more likely to develop lung cancer than men who smoke
•Stopping smoking, regardless of age, significantly reduces the risk of lung cancer
Radiology Associates of Tallahassee offers a Low-Dose CT Lung Screen for patients who have a history of smoking a pack a day for 30 years or 2 packs a day for 15 years. Talk with your doctor today for additional advice and information regarding this exam.

Incredible turnout for the March for Babies Walk!
Radiology Associates had the pleasure of being a first time sponsor for the March for Babies walk. This event supports and funds important research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives.
The walk was held at Tom Brown Park on April 26th and hosted more than 2,000 participants from the local community. Prior to the walk, event sponsors provide activites and giveaways while local entertainment performed on the main stage. The choice between a 1 mile or 3 mile route throughout Tom Brown Park provided participants a wonderful opportunity for exercise, all for a wonderful cause!
If you missed this year's event, make sure to make plans for March for Babies 2015, held on April 25, 2015 at Tom Brown Park. For more information and to donate to March for Babies, visit www.marchofdimes.org.
Free CPR Event This Weekend
Local residents have the opportunity to learn CPR (cardiopulumonary resuscitation) this weekend on June 7th at the FAMU Al Lawson Jr Multipurpose Center. Training is provided by Leon County Emergency Medical Services professionals and will include a Press the Chest kit from the American Heart Association.
Radiology Associates is a proud sponsor of this community event and encourages everyone to pre-register for the event. To register, visit www.LeonCountyFL.gov/PressTheChest.
