What to Expect During the Procedure
You will receive an intravenous injection of radioisotope in your arm or hand. This feels like a blood test. You will then lie on the table on your back.
Images are acquired for 20 minutes and delay images are necessary about 2 hours later. You may leave the facility, resuming normal activities until the return
time designated by our technologist. Upon return, images are acquired for about 45 minutes. Then, a second radioisotope is injected and one final
image acquired for 5 minutes. There are no common side effects.
